Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the living embodiment of God’s mission, rule, and work in the world. Central commits to develop a deeper understanding of who Christ is and what that means to us, our neighbors, and our world.
We will be a Jesus-focused church continually learning to live in a way that promotes the Kingdom of God.
We develop and maintain a non-anxious, Christ-centered approach when navigating challenging and relevant topics.
We define how Sunday worship and other gatherings can grow and mature us in Christ.
We increase our interpretation and understanding of Scripture through the lens of Jesus Christ.
We identify how missions at Central will foster faith growth and help equip disciples.
We become a Christ-centered resource for panhandle-area faith communities and our global missions partners.

While there are many ways and places that we seek to learn about Jesus, one of the primary ways we can be together as a church body is in worship on Sunday mornings.

Worship at Central

God’s purpose and intent for the world is to redeem and renew creation through the Kingdom of God, accomplished in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. In worship, the church proclaims this and joins the work God began. We tell, sing, commune, and enact God’s story together, rehearsing the gospel and locating our lives within it.
All worship begins with God, and in response, we bring ourselves—our lives and our gifts—as an offering to the Lord. This gathering transforms us. As we encounter God together, the Holy Spirit forms us: through Scripture we are shaped by God’s story, through communion we experience Christ, through prayer we engage the sacred. Formation is not the purpose of worship, but it is reliably what happens when God’s people truly meet God. We value worship for the entire church. From serving communion to reading Scripture, we have diverse and intergenerational participation. This gives us a more complete picture of the Kingdom of God.
