Worship at Central

God’s purpose and intent for the world is to redeem and renew creation through the Kingdom of God, accomplished in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. In worship, the church proclaims this and joins the work God began. We tell, sing, commune, and enact God’s story together, rehearsing the gospel and locating our lives within it.
All worship begins with God, and in response, we bring ourselves—our lives and our gifts—as an offering to the Lord. This gathering transforms us. As we encounter God together, the Holy Spirit forms us: through Scripture we are shaped by God’s story, through communion we experience Christ, through prayer we engage the sacred, through song we express our faith in God. Formation is not the purpose of worship, but it is reliably what happens when God’s people truly meet God. We value worship for the entire church. From serving communion to reading Scripture, we have diverse and intergenerational participation. This gives us a more complete picture of the Kingdom of God.
