You are already experiencing formation whether you realize it or not. We are shaped and molded by the things around us, by culture, by relationships, by the media we take in. We can let these things form us, or we can set our intention on allowing Jesus to be our model and the practices of our faith to form us.
How are we formed at Central? What do we mean by formation? Scripture is full of references to growth, change, and taking on the image of Christ. We understand that our formation is not passive. While we cannot transform ourselves, when we open ourselves to God's presence we make room for the work that only God can do. This is important on an individual level as well as a communal level. God fashioned the two to work together. We can actively experience spiritual practices.
Some of the ways we engage here at Central is through our Sunday morning gatherings of Bible class and worship. We offer times together on Wednesday nights, and some members participate in small group gatherings. If you seek to be more attentive to the voice of God in your life, you can meet with a spiritual director.
